It’s never been a better time to buy a custom bike

We’re open for business again and it’s never been a better time to start your custom bike build.

Cycling is kicking off too. Unsurprising given the only thing the government told us we could buy or use in lock down was a bicycle.

The upturn is lovely for bike shops, but it’s had some unintended consequences for you in terms of availability of stock - there just aren’t that many bikes around - and it’s making custom options look more appealing to people who don’t mind a wait.

Evan’s have a Trek Madone SLR up for list at £10,500. They’ve only got it left in a 54 , and with stock still shipping and selling like hotcakes it’s difficult to imagine the big brands catching up with manufacturing demand real quick.

Why? With only a handful of big factories to make everything, big brands just don’t do ‘just in time’ manufacturing.

They order a season ahead on minimum 180 day lead times and when they run out, they kinda just run out. That means you’ve potentially got a lengthy wait for some top end race bikes in your size and spec.

Before you rush down to your nearest discounter and hoover up the last black and red Tarmac, perhaps give us a call…

- that Trek I mentioned… it is almost 8kgs too. That’s heavier than our steel XCR Disc brake Izoard in lightweight spec!

Email or call Andy or David if you’d like to get started.

  • To help you save up to 47% on your custom bike we’ve teamed up with Green Commute Initiative. You can now buy all Spoon and Wyndymilla products using that scheme. Click here for more info.

  • We also provide V12 retail finance, with interest free options.

- Our guys in Italy are back at work and our paintshop, Gun Control, is open too. We’ve made huge progress on the order book in just two weeks. So much so we’re shipping finished customer frames from the workshop to the paint shop this week - two weeks after reopening production.

We’ve a way to go, but that’s way quicker than we could have dared hope. Thanks to everyone that’s stuck by us whilst things slowed down.
